What are vitamins?
vitamin is an organic molecule that is an essential micronutrient that an organism needs in some quantities for the proper functioning of its metabolism. Essential nutrients cannot be synthesized in the organism, either at all or not in sufficient quantities, and therefore must be obtained through the food or we can say that Vitamins are a group of substances that are needed for normal cell function, growth, and development.

Why are vitamins important for our body?
Vitamins and minerals are considered essential nutrients—because acting in concert, they perform hundreds of roles in the body. They help shore up bones, heal wounds, and bolster your immune system.

Types of vitamins
There are two types of vitamins
1- Fat soluble vitamin
2- Water soluble vitamin 
What is fat soluble?
Fat-soluble vitamins are absorbed along with fats in the diet and are stored in the body's fatty tissue and in the liver. They are found in many plant and animal foods and in dietary supplements.

There are four types of fat soluble vitamins
1-Vitamin A or Ratinol vitamin
Disease  -Night blindness

2-Vitamin D or Calsiferd
Disease - Rickets

3-Vitamin E or Tocotherd
Disease - Sterlity

4-Vitamin k or Nepthoquane
Disease - No blood clotting (Bleeding)

What is water soluble vitamin ?
Water-soluble vitamins travel freely through the body, and excess amounts usually are excreted by the kidneys. The body needs water-soluble vitamins in frequent, small doses. These vitamins are not as likely as fat-soluble vitamins to reach toxic levels.
Water-soluble vitamins are carried to the body's tissues but are not stored in the body. They are found in many plant and animal foods and in dietary supplements and must be taken in daily. Vitamin C and members of the vitamin B complex are water-soluble.
Types of Water soluble vitamin
There are two types of water soluble vitamin.
1- Vitamin C or Ascarbic acid

2- Vitamin B or B-complex

Food processing can also reduce the amount of B-group vitamins in foods – either by destroying them, or in white flours, white breads and white rice removing the parts that contain the most B-group vitamins. This is one of the reasons white flours, white breads and white rice are less nutritious than their wholegrain counterparts.

• thiamin (B1)

• riboflavin (B2)

• niacin (B3)

• pantothenic acid (B5)

• pyridoxine (B6)

• biotin (B7)

• folate or 'folic acid

• supplements (B9)

cyanocobalamin (B12).
Causes of vitamins
Vitamin deficiency anemia usually develops slowly over several months to years. Signs and symptoms may be subtle at first but usually increase as the deficiency worsens. 

Common medical causes of vitamin deficiency include:
Alcoholic liver disease.

Liver failure.

Kidney disease.

Chronic diarrhea.

Malabsorption syndrome.

Gastric bypass.

Inflammatory bowel disease31.

Crohn's disease.

Fatigue

Problem in breathing

Dizziness

Pale or yellowish skin

Irregular heartbeats

Weight loss

Numbness or tingling in the hands and feet

Muscle weakness

Prevention
You can prevent some forms of vitamin deficiency anemia by choosing a healthy diet that includes a variety of foods.

Beef, liver, chicken and fish Eggs

Fortified foods, such as breakfast cereals
Milk, cheese and yogurt

Foods rich in folate include:

Broccoli, spinach, asparagus and lima beans

Oranges, lemons, bananas, strawberries and melons

Enriched grain products, such as bread, cereal, pasta and rice

Liver, kidneys, yeast, mushrooms and peanuts
